Bengals DE Cam Sample to Miss 2024 Season Due to Torn Achilles

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor informed reporters that DE Cam Sample has torn his Achilles and will be sidelined for the 2024 season, according to Jay Morrison.

This injury significantly impacts Cincinnati’s edge rusher depth and is a tough blow for Sample, who was in the final year of his rookie contract and aiming to establish a role. 

At 24, Sample was a four-year starter at Tulane and earned first-team All-AAC honors in 2020. The Bengals selected him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

In 2023, he played all 17 games for the Bengals, amassing 29 total tackles, one tackle for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one pass deflection.
