You might want to delay that hard drive upgrade if you’re concerned about space for October’s release of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*. Activision revealed in a blog post on Thursday that this year’s installment of the popular shooter series will feature a significantly smaller download size, among other changes ahead of its October 25 launch.
The major shift is the separation of *Call of Duty: Warzone*, the battle royale mode that was previously bundled with the main game. Now, Warzone will be available as a standalone download, allowing players to save up to 130GB of hard drive space, as it will no longer be included with *Black Ops 6*.
Additional updates for this year’s game include a redesigned user interface and a new system that streams game textures as needed, rather than requiring them to be downloaded all at once.
While the exact file size for *Black Ops 6* won’t be confirmed until October, Activision has assured that it will be significantly smaller than 300GB.
The game will also feature a revamped file organization system. On PlayStation 5, updates will be split into four parts, while Xbox and PC users will receive updates in a single download.
An early access beta is scheduled from August 30 to September 4, with an open beta running from September 6 to September 9.
